With „Little Home“, Berlin double bassist Paul Kleber steps forward as a bandleader for the first time. These are songs he composed over more than a decade in his living-room studio, and for his debut he gathers long-time collaborators around him. Pianist and producer Uri Gincel, trumpeter Sebastian Studnitzky and drummer Tobias Backhaus play throughout, joined by a horn section and occasional guests from the jazz scene; the album was recorded at the Jazzanova Recording Studio. „Little Home“ merges groove and electronic influences with warm acoustic textures, finally shedding light on the multi-faceted songwriting only hinted at in Kleber's earlier work with Micatone, Lisa Bassenge, Jazzanova Live and the Moka Efti Orchestra. From the wild brass of the opener „A Little Loving“ through the rhythmically captivating „Fourty“ to the closing title track, the record unfolds as an odyssey into Kleber's own four walls – personal, open-eared and carried by the deep familiarity of these musicians.
