WLMZ is a project by drummer Jonas Wilms. During the pandemic, he collaborated with Nicolas Börger and Jonathan Ihlenfeld Cuniado to create his first EP, “CHAPTER ONE.” “I’ve always had a desire to make a hip-hop-influenced modern jazz record.” Jonas Wilms used the past few years to focus entirely on his own musical needs. Inspired by J Dilla, Slum Village, Robert Glasper, J3PO, Chris Dave and The Drumhedz, and many others, he concentrated on beats and sounds of a special kind. The result is a collection of experimental songs that captivate with their cross-genre energy.
