To Measure An Earth

digital · XJM26020

Zurich-based family collective Sixty Degrees presents their debut album To Measure an Earth, a dynamic blend of contemporary jazz, electronic textures, and improvisation. The project captures a raw and intimate energy while exploring themes of urban life and collective creativity. The trio moves fluidly between structured compositions and open forms, creating a deeply melodic journey that can leave you whiplashed much like a rollercoaster. With trumpet, drums, and modular synthesizers, Sixty Degrees craft a sonic landscape that ranges from delicate jazz lines to electronic pulses and archaic textures. To Measure An Earth reflects their fearless, collaborative approach and positions them within the new wave of European jazz.

About the artist

Sixty Degrees

Sixty Degrees delivers an intense and immersive blend of contemporary jazz, electronic textures, and free improvisation. The trio of cosmopolitan musicians is unafraid to explore a wide sonic spectrum, from lyrical trumpet lines and abstract noise to deep, archaic sound worlds. Trumpet player Felix Niggli moves fluidly between jazz phrasing, electronic experimentation, and raw sonic expression. Gaudenz Niggli contributes forward-thinking electronic compositions shaped by rhythmic precision, balancing danceability with depth and complexity. Drummer Lucas Niggli approaches sound as a physical force, shaping textures like shifting tectonic plates. Their collective intuition and communication form the basis of a highly responsive and boundary-free improvisational language. The result is a powerful, dynamic trio sound where trumpet, drums, and modular synthesis merge into an agile and deeply physical musical experience.
