„Entangled Grounds – The Sound of XJAZZ! Berlin“ is a compilation celebrating Berlin's jazz community. It was recorded over five winter days in 2023/2024 at the Brewery Studios using entirely analogue techniques – cut to SM900 tape on Studer machines – a no-compromise approach that lends the ten tracks a warm, physical presence. The record gathers artists from the city's contemporary scene, among them Moses Yoofee, douniah, Abase, Sonic Interventions and Petter Eldh, in shifting constellations from the opener „Follow Me“ through „Still Waiting“ and „AFENI“ to the closing „The Brewery Suite“. Artistic direction was led by Erik Breuer and Sebastian Hecht, with Breuer also handling recording and mixing, mastering by Arnold Kasar (Calyx) and design by Autostrada Studios. Released on digital and vinyl, the album is at once a snapshot and a love letter to a city and its tightly woven, headstrong jazz scene.
