Drop The Spoon

Pssst… It's Raining

Digital (Hi-Res) · XJM26003 · ~44:00

"Pssst… It's Raining" is a sonic journey that carries Bern-based trio Drop The Spoon from the Amazonian rainforest into outer space and eventually back home. Lucas Sevilla (guitar & sound design), Nils Stricker (drums & sound design) and Lennart Schandl (space bass) weave together experimental sound design, post-rock, contemporary jazz, psychedelic music and field recordings into a continuous arc, from "Along the Trails of the Panther" through the weightless "Astral Surfing" to the title-track finale. Guests Anika Batt (cello & seagulls) and Nicolina Andrea Janka (voice) broaden the palette further. Recorded by Joel Banz and Nils Stricker, mixed by Stricker and Banz, and mastered by Christoph Utzinger. An atmospheric, genre-fluid album that moves cinematically and playfully between organic band sound and electronic texture.

Drop The Spoon is a Swiss experimental trio of Lucas Sevilla (guitar, FX), Lennart Schandl (bass, FX) and Nils Stricker (drums, electronics). Across the nine tracks of their debut album "Pssst… It's Raining", molded into a single longplayer piece, the band takes listeners on a sonic journey from the Amazonian rainforest to outer space and back home.
