Der Hirte Albert is a Berlin-based duo of Otto Hirte (saxophone, clarinet, flute) and Leon Albert (guitar). As much as the two enjoy joking around, their hearts beat for serious music — a tragic inner conflict they channel into their joint compositions both emotionally and humorously. Their album "Am Zahn Der Zeit" (2022) complements through-composed pieces with exciting improvisations featuring virtuosic double saxophone and baritone guitar. The track "WUMS II – Gemeiner Rhythwums" is drawn from it.
